"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"
-- (John 3:16 KJV).
A Tail of Two Hearts Two men on their crosses, In agony and pain;
One looked to the Lord, Calling out His name.
In anguish he cried, “Jesus! Remember me this day";
"I know that I’m lost, yet you know the way.”
The Master replied,“You have my word";
"When we come to paradise, your request will be heard."
Relieved and at peace, The thief humbly accepted;
Unlike the other, who faced eternal rejection.
Amazing salvation! Jesus died in our place;
Punishment pardoned, securing us grace.
A gift so rare, it’s hard to conceive;
Heavens joy can be yours, Just choose to believe.
His blood was poured out, God's sacrifice for sin;
By receiving its power, you are now welcomed in.
All mankind should cry out, like a thief on his cross.
God's gift is salvation, for an eternity lost.
One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!"
But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence?
We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."
Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:39-43 NIV)
